The purpose of SleepForAll.com is to help you get to sleep, stay asleep, and wake refreshed.
Sleep is a natural process, so you don’t need to purchase any products to get you to sleep and certainly don’t need to take sleeping pills.
The reason why most people can’t sleep is simple, they’re interrupting the natural process of sleep. There are many things you can do to prevent sleep that can cause insomnia. But there are also many things you can do to enhance sleep. People get into bad sleep habits and they often don’t even realise they have done so.
Knowledge and awareness of what can cause insomnia really can improve your sleep. Just by understanding how sleep works, you can see exactly what you should avoid and what you can do to give the natural process of sleep a helping hand. Sleep is natural, but like all natural cycles, it can easily get mixed up.
Insomnia is easy to slip into. The biology of teenagers does a good job of that! Once you get insomnia it grows and develops. Like an overgrown garden, if you don’t pull out the weeds it will get worse and worse. Monitoring our sleep habits is much the same.
But the good news is that insomnia can easily be overcome. You will need willpower yes and you will need to know what course of action to take. But what if I claim that no matter how long you’ve been suffering from insomnia, you can be sleeping deeply and wake refreshed and alert within a matter of weeks. In my experience, it’s certainly possible. It happened to me after more than 10 years of chronic insomnia.
I’m not a sleep doctor and this website really isn’t a replacement for medical help. I’m just a regular guy who has overcome his insomnia using a variety of techniques and habits that I will be sharing with you on this website.
How to use this site
SleepForAll.com is like a guidebook to good sleep. If you want to gain knowledge of the subject, start on the first page and work your way though using the links at the bottom of each article. But if you want insight on a particular area, you can jump straight to it.
SleepForAll.com has a range of articles each contained within a number of series.
Sleep Promoting Habits
In this series of articles, we’ll cover tried and tested methods to help you get a better night’s sleep. This will be done by implementing, changing or removing key habits that can effect sleep either positively or negatively.
Some habits can lead to insomnia, while others naturally promote sleep. By removing or changing the ones that could create insomnia and introducing habits that promote sleep, your quality of sleep will improve dramatically.
Natural Sleeping Aids
The purpose of this Sleep Aids section is to provide the facts on a variety of different sleep products.
In the world of cut throat Internet marketing, everyone is out there to convince you their product is best. But which really are the best? Which ones can enhance sleep and help you overcome insomnia?
There’s a lot of well marketed junk on the Internet, but there’s also some gems that can boost the quality of your sleep.
In this series I will recommend some of my favorites and explain how they work.
How Sleep Works
In this series of we will examine how sleep actually works and the building blocks for good sleep.
By understanding what creates a good night sleep, you also gain awareness of what prevents sleep and what could potentially create insomnia.
Sleep theory can be a big confusing subject so I’ve broken it down into bite size articles. Take it in your stride and you’ll understand more abut sleep than most people will in their lifetime.
How to Wake Up Refreshed
Falling asleep is just one side of the coin to deep refreshing sleep. The other side and one that is not nearly emphasised enough by many sleep experts, is how to wake up refreshed. After all, the whole point of sleep is to become revitalised.
If you don’t wake up refreshed, its very tempting to oversleep. Oversleeping can really mess up your sleep pattern. It may prevent you from sleeping the following night which then can lead to either sleep deprivation, insomnia or more oversleeping.
Even if you’ve never woken refreshed in your life (my first time was in my late teens!), after reading these articles, you too will be able to wake up fresh and alert.
Overcoming Insomnia
This series is designed to give you a crash course in insomnia. Insomnia is sleep gone bad. It is caused by something which prevents the body’s natural sleep process.
Surveys show that 30% of young to middle aged adults suffer from lack of sleep, enough to be noticeable to them, rising to 50% for elderly people.
So insomnia is as common as muck. Even you have squeaky clean sleeping habits, your still likely to suffer from it some time in your life. If you suffer from insomnia you are far from alone!
Insomnia is defined as not getting enough sleep. May be caused by:
- Difficulty falling asleep
- Difficulty staying asleep
- Bad quality of sleep
- A combination of the above
This series will help you identify the cause of your insomnia and give you tips on how it can be overcome.
Create the Perfect Sleep Environment
The better your sleep environment, the easier it is for you to be able to fall into a deep refreshing sleep. A positive sleep environment is one that actively promotes sleep, where as a negative sleep environment is one that naturally promotes insomnia.
By sleeping in a poor sleep environment, you can develop what’s called learned insomnia. This is where your mind and body actually expects you to stay awake through the night and so it doesn’t begin to prepare your body for sleep until much later in the night when it expects you to fall asleep.
By creating a positive sleep environment, you set yourself up for a great night’s sleep. The difference it makes to your sleep can be huge and in most cases, all it takes is a few simple changes.
Here’s how to create the perfect sleep environment.
Sleep Tests
In this series I’ve provided a range of quick and easy sleep tests that you can fill out and use the results to better understand the nature of your sleep.
All these tests are completely free and you will get to see your results immediately.
These tests are useful to help you understand the reasons behind your insomnia and what can be done to help.
Sleep Disorders
A sleep disorder is a medical problem that in some way affects the way you sleep.
There are many different sleep disorders out there and they can impact sleep in many different ways.
In this series I have highlighted some of the most common sleep disorders people face and what can be done to help treat or overcome them.
